Hello, over the weekend I had some time to think about some extensions to the sorting scheme implemented in xindy. I have written down some pages that describe the new extended scheme, which is upwards compatible with the old scheme. A paper is available from our home page that describes the new features and give examples how to sort German and French with their rather complex sorting rules. The paper can be fetched from http://www.iti.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/xindy/new-sort-rules.ps I plan to release a new version of xindy soon. Any further hints on the sorting scheme, problems not solvable with the new scheme, or other suggestions are welcome.
